Dead posh

OK, folks I have the biggest scratchiest pair of cranky undies on right now. You guys know the busy beyond busy thing I have going on with concert - well, the body has revolted. I have fluid behind one of my ear drums and its a bit like being drunk (without the alcohol). I am a bit off balance and a bit nauseous and a whole lot cranky.
If I sit perfectly still, its fine...which you would think is manageable wouldn't you ? except I don't think I have sat perfectly still since about 1988...I'm not good at still.
So here is where we are folks...everything is half finished, half started , half arsed and half cocked.

But just so you know I love you ...I took the photo again minus the half eaten apple.

man, this could be a design blog.

  1. Sick is boring but no less shittier bc of that. Hope the fluid drains back into your brain soon and fills up the spaces.

  2. It's crap that you feel like crap. I hope you feel better soon!! Didn't even notice the apple.... !! I'm observant!

  3. At least the whole fluid/ear thingy is a cheaper version of drunk... but perhaps not as much fun dare I say. Hope you are back to peak performance soon Jod.

  4. I'm glad you removed the apple. It was the only thing I could see! I hope you get your sense of balance back soon.

  5. I had to go back and search for the apple too - you've created a 'Spot the Difference' puzzle without even trying - now that's crafty genius!
    Get better soon xx

  6. Oh Jod you poor thing! Better get those pj's on and go to bed! Take a sketch book with you and draw some new designs!!

  7. Nah. I thought the apple photo had more class. Better proportioned too. Try a little or a lot of alchohol. I hear it works wonders for posture problems. Cherrie

  8. Oh Jodie, I would read your design blog...you are so incredibly tidy and to show you how Untidy I am, I didn't even see the apple until you pointed it out...must be used to that sort of thing in my little creating area...I would say craft room but if I do it reminds me that my father in law refers to it as a room that also starts with cra.!
Hope you feel a whole lot better soon..and can jump up and run around.

  9. Stop it. Stop it now. Back away from the craft. Go to bed or curl up in front of the TV.

    Do you hear me?

  11. Oh you poor thing, I had that for months and it drove me batty. I finally found out that it could be fixed with sudafed - or one like it. It's worth a try!!
    Good luck,

  24. I hope your ear fluid dries up quickly. Thanks though for the new phrase... cranky undies, I'm going to take it and run with it. You could chuck a wobbly, also known as a fannywobble in our house :)

  25. Oh, being sick is beyond boring, indeed. I liked the half-et apple. It was a nice contrast with all the red in this photo composition. (I think I have some of the same red fabric that's casually folded on your desk.)

You guys Downunder have some of the best words: Faffing, knackered, chuffed...

    ReplyDelete
  26. Wow, classy without the half-eaten pomme..!! I suggest that you drink several glasses of strong shandy so that you have something more exciting to blame the wobble on..!!

  27. I've had labrynthitis - is this that? Nasty!

I didn't even notice the apple til you said?!

I was far too taken with the pretty red fabric. WhatisitwhatisitwherecanIgetsome?

You need to try listening to speech radio and working on the sit still thing.

Word is oveduck - that's a couple of letters short of love a duck!

or is it cluck, soon see.

    love a cluck also cool.

    Take care of yourself missus!

PS your craft clock was being admired at my house today.

  28. Get well soon! x

And I hope you finished the apple - sounds like you need all your fruit and veggies at the moment!!

  29. Ok, now I had to go back to look for the apple and the turtle! ha ha. Hope you get better fast!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I didn't notice the apple either! Glad I wasn't the only one! I'm kind of in love with the little robot guy up there next to the awesome turtle! I hope that you start feeling better!

  32. I think its the lime green wall thats making you feel drunk? Nope? OK crap in your ear will do that to you. Did you try going to the doctor? Yep, OK, well did you try goggling symptons on the internet, standing upside down and eating fruit? OK well try wearing your undies over the TOP of your PJ's then you will at least LOOK like wonderwoman! Try fondling your machine, that makes me feel better...! Sue SA

  34. Yeah, so stop doing that fluid thing! (Oh. Not a helpful comment? This is the type of comment that drives my kids insane. I have to practice somewhere!)

    ReplyDelete
  35. The half eaten apple was just part of the theme - I thought it was perfect, unless you happened to be hungry for the other half. It's good to see that you folks on the other side of the world eat apples that look just like the ones we eat!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hey Jodie, know how you must be feeling. I'm so so so sick too. Oh my I want my mum. I can hardly talk, it hurts to eat and I ache all over. But just like you that's not gonna stop me. Oh no, I'm gonna do stuff, sometime today, well maybe. I want my mum, but she lives in Ballarat so maybe you can have my mum and I'll just weather it out. Cheers.

  37. I have acute sinusitis so I am also suffering from "not sure which way is straight" myself! Hope you get better soon (at least holidays are rapidly approaching; think: pyjamas in the middle of the day, time for self ...)

    ReplyDelete
  38. the half eaten apple fitted perfectly in the photo - not sure why you felt the need to remove it.
Hope the ear thing is sorted soon.

  39. Love your Blog. Wanted to mention that after months and months of similar ear suffering (and using sudafed) I have been diagnosed with Meniere's Disease (Hydrops) ie fancy names for fluid in the inner ear. Did not want to be doom and gloom.... but I wish I had seen a Ear Nose Throat Specialist a lot earlier. I would recommend asking to do so. Now am on medication and low salt diet (reduce fluid rention) and have had some improvement. More of a lifestyle management thing to help reduce the number of "episodes" over time. Has also helped lessen the tinnitus. All the Best Ros

  40. Obviously we all LOVED your snark this morning and that disappearing half-eaten apple. Just recovering myself from a double round of sinus infection, and have finally joined the living once again.

I wish you the best in beating the ear drum thing (no pun intended) and feeling better. Yes, I am a fan.

    Hang in there--

  43. The apple was my favourite bit! Gutter for your ear! I get weird dizzy ear thing some times (but not for a few years now..touch wood) 10 points for even being out of bed, which is where I end up hiding! P.S: 'cranky undies' & 'half arsed and half cocked'....God I love your blog! xx

  49. Aww maaaan - poorly ears really are the pits, now wonder your pants are cranky and scratchy :o(

I can't hear a thing out of my right ear right now but that's because it's got a big wet puppy nose stuck in it. He doesn't like me reading blogs and wants me to play ball instead!

Hope you feel much better very soon and that normal service is resumed.

  53. I strongly recommend being posh instead of dead... it's a health and safety thing.

Hope your ear gets better so that when you drink alcohol you'll know why you're falling over a lot.

Being ill is a blooming nuisance ...only not necessarily in those words...!!!

Hide under the duvet and groan a lot until everyone goes away and lets you sleep.

  54. aw we love you too. Half eaten apples are a decor staple around here.

Hope the ear clears soon, vertigo is so not fun.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I was sick last weekend because of some mystery 24 hour bug but, like you, I don't do 'still' so, not least because the dogs/cats/chickens needed letting out and feeding I managed to drag myself up out of bed. Not so Mr. Tialys who was very self indulgent in his 'stillness'.
    Hope you feel better soon.
