So I had this big post planned, right....

all about the massive changes to my life. The immediate things like a change of abode and smart new car would soon become obvious I decided, so it would be best to come clean right from the start. I had planned to share with you my final missive to the day job, which generally mentioned me sending someone in to clean out my desk...
In my mind I had already outsourced every banal job known to man, I no longer had a wish list on Amazon, Book depository, Etsy or any fabric shop in the universe.
But apparently for some strange reason I did not win 20 million dollars in the lottery last night.

I guess I may just have to sell the blog to Paul - he emailed me and told me he would like to buy my URL and all my content and to name my price.....so I've been working on my reply.

"Dearest Paul, It was with some surprise that I received your recent email_____________"
Feel free to fill in the blanks.

  1. Jodie, you're never going to win unless you actually buy a lotto ticket ...

Ah, btw, if you agree, I will need your bank account, passwords, credit card no and another couple of tiny details about your life. That beeing said, I am looking forwad to your reply. Please write to me ar love@ jkkk.cc.hk

  5. Should I be offended? Paul hasn't approached me. I only get old British ladies left gazillions by their deceased hubbies inexplicably wanting to give it all to little ol' me...

  6. I love Diana's comment...except mine would have to be Nigerian!

  7. I soooo have plans for a big lottery win, but apart from not often having an actual ticket, when I do buy one I only get at most 2 numbers. This is valid for a prize of...nothing.

Your blog is priceless and worth nothing without you in it!

    Cheers,
    AJ

  10. Paul is one busy guy. I confess I emailed him back. Along a similar sort of tone I save to greet the electricity salesman who comes knocking right in the middle of dinner. It was a lapse, I agree.

  11. PAUL!!! Bloody Paul!!!! he asked me too- and I was annoyed at the sum- a measley $500 for my blog! The cheek!!!

  13. Oh Paul... what a dingbat... you should know that us women like to talk, and you'd come a-cropper soon enough with your philandering ways (not in the literal sense... ahem...) Have to admit though, you do have good taste in Aussie bloggers! (and no - I wasn't asked! LOL!!!)

ps. word verification: mundemie... sounds like something a bilingual donkey might say...!!

  15. paul gets around a lot doesn't he?
    Damn re the lottery.
You never win it when really needed ( like in my case to buy the wonkiest house in the world)
then again it never come when not needed either, at least around here. xo

  16. I'm glad you're coming back to work, although I don't get to see you so much with all those darn meetings. hmmmmm!

  17. Everyone else is being so polite...is it really bad that my blank is two words...one has four letters and one has three followed by an exclamation mark? Best I go wash my mind out with soap!
And Tatts buggered up and didn't give me $20 million last night either...suppose buying a ticket would have helped...hell, even remembering that it was Tattslotto night and knowing that there was a $20 million draw would have been a good start!! *Sigh* back to the wishlists for me too....

  18. Paul contacted me too!

Keep the list on Amazon, and the fabric shop, there will be another soon.

  19. Hilarious, is Paul trying to get a monopoly on all the craft blogs in Australia, why, so weird??!! I see those emails & click on SPAM & delete before the second line, the email address usually gets you.
I get a lot from Mark in Japan too, he wants me to ship him lots products & use his credit card (credit card is mentioned half a dozen times in the short but repetitive emails). Guess what Mark & your cousin Paul . . . we're not dumb you know!!
Finally, if someone buys your blog, can't you just take the money & run to setting up another blog?? Pretty sure that is how the business world, where you make money. Just find a genuine Mark who can say & chit chat about mummy life in the country with children, just like you do!! Love Posie

  20. "My URL is priceless! To sell it would be to sell-out on my bloggy friends!" LOL
    I got that email too!

  21. I am feeling so left out; am I the only person in the bloggy universe Paul hasn't contacted? Is there a support group I can join? What a bummer about the lottery, Jod! I keep getting emails from nice ladies and gents in Nigeria and about being a winner in the Irish lottery; I am a very quick useless-email-deleter (maybe too quick, maybe I really have won the Irish sweepstakes, oh be still, my beating heart!)

  22. I gave strict instructions to the newsagent lady to sell me the winning ticket to the $20 moolyon draw last night but seeing as I've not received my phone call from the guy at Tatts whose job it is to phone the big winners (I read about him in the paper and now I live in hope he'll call me some day soon), I'm guessing she let me down. Again.

  23. Floozy alright! He emailed me too. Might need to start a support group for bloggers who discover that Paul is cheating on them.

  24. Paul is a bit of a tart isn't he ?
He offered me a small fortune... well about $200 but as another girl who hasn't won lotto I thought that $200 would have been nice ......

    ReplyDelete
  25. I just thought I'd ask very quietly while no one else was looking ..... what are those donkeys doing and is it legal ?

    ReplyDelete
  26. There's good and there's bad....
'I' won tattslotto last night (shhh, don't tell anyone else it was only $13.10)
and I am clearly not important enough to be on Paul's list either.
Guess I'm not 'in' with the in-crowd!

  27. Never mind Jodie, we are still here! Donkeys are cute though, what are they doing? My verification word is makes, apt i think!

  28. Nobody has offered to buy my blog yet but Dot has had a few offers - do you think I should be offended??? Locket x

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yes, winning the lottery seems to be somewhat of a pipe dream! But hmmm... I have been hearing a lot at this Paul. Not too sure if he could offer enough money. I think he is too controlling anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm sorry you didn't win the 20 mill but a little tickled because Paul thought my blog worth making an offer too - even it was only $200.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I guess you could always embroider a pair of knickers with "I sold my soul to Paul and all I got was this lousy pair of drawers.."
Smooch for Reuben, who obviously hasn't got the hang of yoga yet..

    ReplyDelete
  32. Haha, I love Katy (France)'s idea! When life gets your down, embroider your underpants. Man, I love it over here.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Paul! Where is my little bit of attention so that I can tell you to go away... I think we need to have a support group for those that the 'blog tart' has ignored. What is wrong with us Paul????

    ReplyDelete
  34. Stand firm and demand millions. That's what they offered me and you're worth WAY more LOL!!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Paul has been a busy man I wonder what he is intending to do with all these blogs he is going to buy.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Happy Valentines Day to My Lovely Bloggy Sweetheart! Love Annie ♥*:•.♥

  37. your junk emails sounds better than mine. I keep getting ones in russian or ones from dear aunties in Nigeria about making carbonite willies or some such thing.

If I won the lottery (if I actually played) I would buy a house in California and I would buy a little shop filled with books, antiques and fabric.. with a coffee bar in it and it would be ace. Then I would probably travel the globe visiting all the crafty bloggers that I wish i could meet now.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The very same thing happened to me! What a conicidence. Well, except for the blog offer, that is.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm feeling very sad and neglected as Paul hasn't offered me a vast fortune yet. Mind you, I do suddenly seem to have gained over 1200 new blog readers, so surely one of them is Paul?

I have to say Jodie - Paul couldn't afford you anyway....cos you're priceless, you are!

    xxx

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh dear... now you've gotten us all divided with those who Paul loves and those who Paul doesn't. I'm actually kinda glad I'm in the 'doesn't' group!! Back to the daily grind hey? Sucks.

    ReplyDelete
  41. If Paul had put on a false moustache, knocked on your door and said "I have come to clean zee pool", you might have been convinced. As it is I wish you all the luck on next weeks lotto draw!

    ReplyDelete
  42. ohh, I don't think Paul visited me, but from the sounds of it, he is a bit of a floozy!
if he did buy ric-rac, would that mean he'd be a replica Mrs Ric-Rac?
because you know I doubt that anyone could even be the tiniest bit as fabulous as you.
hey, I do like Katy (France)'s
comment, now that would be funny.

    enjoy the sunshine Jodie

  44. Well, after reading these comments I have to say I'm a little devastated. Why doesn't Paul want to buy my blog? What, not good enough for you Paul??! Off to cry in the corner now....

    ReplyDelete
  45. I wonder if Paul is in the market for a second hand pram or an exercise bike (like new LOL!)or does he only buy blogs?!
