Big stick

With big stick firmly in hand, I mended the mannequin

I finished off the first of my postcards for this weekends Daylesford Craft Experience.

I made a new skirt, which I actually cut out at Sewjourn in May
(and quite obviously need to iron)

A bit of trace around a jam jar embellishment. You know, I realise that although I don't enjoy making clothes at all I quite like the embellishing bit.

and dug out the dress and chair. Today I need to give these guys a bit of a spruce up and iron the frock. I also need to start my next postcard for the weekend and check my Gocco supplies. I am waiting for the delivery of a new computer and need to fold some patterns...
but once I have done all those things

it is off to the duck factory !

It doesn't take much

to make me think I can take on the world.
Yesterday I decided enough was enough and the "cardboard Box" filing system. This is where I keep all the pattern components - a total disaster.

So a bit of D.I.Y later

and now I have a metal wrack thingo with sliding out drawers. All I need to do is make some little labels for the front of the drawers and I am organised. This fitted perfectly inside the cupboard, between the tubs and under the hanging rail in the sewing room cupboard.
Huzzah !

How good does the right container feel? Is it just me - I get endless pleasure from containers and boxes and packaging.......
People like me keep places like Ikea in business. I firmly believe that every new container is going to lead me to an ikea-organised minimalist life, that it will be the answer to my hoarding cluttering ways.
So with one small part of my life completely and utterly organised and two weeks holidays ahead of me, I have been list writing this morning and right now I am heading into today ready to whack it with a big stick!
I hope yours is a "big stick" kind of day too!

in doubt...........

So, whilst we push Mr Fox to the back of the brain and concentrate on finishing up Milligan.......I suggest we have cake.
This is Jen who I am lucky enough to know. Jen used to work at Ballarat Patchwork but just last week she opened up her very own coffee shop, aptly called 'cake.'

This coming Saturday some of us bloggy /crafty types will be gathering at Jens' new shop in Main rd Ballarat at 2pm. Not for any reason except cake and coffee and hanging out with friends.

So the invitation is open , if you are a local or even if you are not , if you are a blogger or a not-blogger, if you are in twenty craft groups, or none at all. If we have never met, met once or practically live together - why not come and have a coffee and cake at Jen's new shop?

I know I'll be there and so will Jan and Lizzie and Annie and Deborah - just let me know if you are coming so I can make sure Jen has enough chairs!

come on , we can't all be axe murderers can we?

I'm not the pheasant plucker

I am not the pheasant plucker

I'm the pheasant plucker's son

I only pluck the pheasants when the pheasant plucker's gone......

'cept that they are ducks, and not plucked, and I'm a girl.....

but it was either that or a shot of me having an existential softie- making breakdown....

this way madness lies...

Obsessed.............Certainly

Tenacious ............ Obviously

But then he looks at me like that..........
and I sigh and put the kettle on (again) and start cutting out head number 25.

Something for you !

I got an email recently , asking about a bag I had published in a magazine a few years ago. The person had the pattern piece but no instructions....
I had almost forgotten this bag existed !
So I made a couple and wrote up some instructions

and on this foggy and freezing Saturday morning I thought its about high time I gave you guys a little present. If you pop on over to the sidebar, and if you already have a bit of tulle laying around your place (and access to a photocopier) you could have this bag finished in less time than it took me to get the bloody upload to work !

Last Friday.........

Saw me trot over to Daylesford to catch up with Merrilyn. We chatted about the Daylesford Craft Experience and Merrilyn showed me some of the stuff people will be finding in their goody bags on the day.

I also saw the fantastic projects that Melly and Annette have designed for the weekend which caused a serious amount of stitch envy , I can tell you. The Saturday session is completely booked out but if you are hoping to come on Sunday you'd better hop to it and book in!

There is going to be displays and fun stuff to do, and people to hang out with and the general hilarity of a room full of crafters sewing together. There is also a bit of a postcard swap going on (which means I had better get organised and stitch mine).

and this, well..... this is Harry, the most eligible puppy-bachelor in all of Daylesford....he has women swooning let me tell you. Of course he belongs to the Lark family and I was lucky enough to visit during his awake time and get a good helping of puppy licky-kisses.
Imagine that face on a softie...........................

Invisiblity

So with all the talk of invisibility, with invisible thread and invisible hems and invisible zips............................guess what I did today?

I invisibled myself from work !
and tomorrow when everyone asks after my health?
I'll tell them I wasn't sick...I was just invisible !
