Oh dear. My heart is breaking for Ernst... what was the news in his letter that has him so upset? Or is he just sad that he dropped his letter??He's so cute Jodie!! I am in love all over again. :)
Awww - I thought he was using his letter as a tissue!
Oh poor Ernst.Mr Six saw the post and said cool cactus Mum, I said its not a cactus.....oh yeah cool turtle.....
Oh, poor Ernst! Was it a Dear John letter? The emotion he gives out....he is just too cute! Didn't think much could beat Parsley and Beet, Ernst may have done it. PS How do you get them to behave so well with the camera? Mine is too cheeky!
Another rejection letter from his publisher? One too many bills? A rude note from a former turtle lover? A summons? Whatever it is, I hope Ernst knows I'm thinking of him and sending lots of love x
Amazing what emotions can be evoked without even a word!!!
Poor Ernst, whatever is the matter?
Seriously cute is Ernst. Obviously a very productive school holiday?LizzieXXXha ha, verification is 'swimmal' perhaps that's what Ernst needs a swimmal.....
he is adorable, his little shell vest kills me, so very clever.
my heart goes out to poor Ernst. I hope his mends soon.Wonderful stuff.
Good God, could you possibly be more clever?? Was starting to miss you. This is very sweet. Personally we have snails who eat our mail, sunny or wet, our mail gets eaten, thus a PO box instead!!Love Posie
Whatever is wrong Ernst, I'll fix it. You just stole my heart!Jodie you are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!AbPs. I want him, I want him, I want him!
Oh no an infringment letter - enough to bring a tear to anyone's eye. But really Ernst shouldn't have been travelling at 1km/hr in that school zone.I'm sure he'll manage to get his case reviewed though ... he's incredibly appealing.(He's gorgeous - one of your best yet!)
Gosh, Jodie, your place must be so overrun with softies by now it's a wonder there's any space left for the humans! And yes, Ernst is seriously cute.
Poor Ernst, he's obviously a very tender hearted turtle. How do you keep coming up with all these gorgeous softies?? If you are running out of room at your place, I'm sure many of us would be more than happy to give your robots, heffalumps, Grocer, Ernst and any other softies a good home. Hugs,Kelly :-)
Oh I know that look....That was me when I got my daughters mobile phone bill. Yep, Ernst must have a teenager - total angst!! I'm feeling his pain.
Jodie, your work is growing in leaps and bounds at the moment. It's so wonderful to watch.
Oh No! Did Ernst just get dumped by snail mail?
My daughter(miss 8) is anxiously waiting for part 2. She just loved your Ernst! Lisa

You have a seriously amazing mind. He is sooooo adorable.
He is sooo cute! Poor thing - it must have been quite a letter!Could you be more creative?!?
Poor Ernst, if he needs a shoulder to cry on, I am here.
Poor Ernst!after the angst-ridden episode of Pride and Prejudice I've just watched (ABC2), I need the next installment; I hope it has a happy ending!! :-(Jodie, I really admire your ability to tell a story - even without words.
Ernst is divine. I'd give him a huuuuuge cuddle to console him. So cool.
What is the cause of Ernst angst? looking forward to you shelling out this story. cool work as always Jodie.
It was my mobile bill, wasn't it? Poor Ernst, that is exactly how mu husband looks...:)
This is turning out to be the best school holiday! It must be working in that beautifully tidy craft room that does it. Ernst is like totally awesome dude......ahem, just been watching Finding Nemo with the sprogs!xxx
'mu' actually is craft speak for 'my', ok? Totally not a typo. Seriously... :)
Ernst makes me think of the mailman in The Koala Brothers. Poor old thing getting dumped by post :-(
I'm sorry Ernst is so upset. If he needs a break he is very welcome to come stay with me for a while.
Ernst...what a great name!!Ps. ineptio is the post verification word...sounds like how Ernt may be feeling...."suffering from ineptio..."
He is so sweet- i love how his shell looks like a little jacket! I love his little mail box- perfect for recieving little gocco postcards from. Gawd- i need more time to get my ideas out of my head... you are flying at the moment I love it!!x
For the love of all that is sacred...could there be anything cuter? You had me at the felt mailbox. I know humans with less expression than Ernst.
Poor Ernst. It doesn't look to be good news. You are the Queen of Cuteness.
Aw too cute. I feel like that too when I check my mail and all i find are bills
Ohhhhhhhhhhh! Sniff! Locket x
Oh no! Poor Ernst! I do hope he will be okay...will be tuning in for the next installment. Hold on Ernst, it won't be long!
The cuteness quotient of this post is sky-high. It may may have reached the outer atmosphere. In fact, I think it's making me feel light-headed. The air is so thin up here. Ernst, you are divine. You make me squeal with happiness. Your creator is my hero.PS-And that mailbox is only THE BEST THING EVER.
What on earth is the matter?? I need to know!!
Oh my!!!He is adorable - Seriously you need to get this toy making as a bigger business there would be huge demand for your softies they are amazing and very unlike anything out there already. They have a naturalness and charm about them... you're a very clever lady indeed.Have you not considered apporoaching a publisher (I'm thinking either pattern book or photo story book a la Parsley and Beet/The Robots at the bus stop)
Please send Ernst's address ASAP. I intend to send him a cheery post card, a winning lottery ticket, and a balloon-o-gram.
Oh NO!!... Was that a Dear John letter for poor Ernst??
What?! Magda has turned him down? Or is it that Bergman's latest film, The Infinite Sadness of Being a Turtle has had to be cancelled at the local cinema?Alas, woe! And thrice woe!... with a side salad of woe! Oh Madga! How could you? I bet she dumped Ernst for Gordon. Just cos he's cool and trendy.
So cute. Poor Ernst. He needs a hug!
I always love your little photo shoots, so creative!
You light up my life Jodie!E xxxx
Oh Ernst, you're adorable!
Turtles have feelings too. Perhaps one of his relatives has been made into soup.
The depth of emotion in Ernts' little face is fantastic.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT??
The dreaded, "Dear Ernst" letter. Who could write such a letter to such an adorable chap?
So Sad! Poor Ernst! HELP HIM, SOMEBODY!! DO SOMETHING!!!
oh no did poor Ernst get a 'Dear John' letter. You are so very clever.

The Importance of Being Ernst.Jodie is a total genius. This is an understatement,of mammoth proportions.
ernst - perfect name. he look forlorn doesn't he?
Have you ever thought of doing a picture book for children? There is some serious cuteness going on here.
I do that when I get bills too :o/.Hugs,Joy :o)PS .... Oh I love Ernst!!!!!!
I loooove Ernst. When I was a girl, I collected turtle toys, even made a papier mache one in art class. But none were this cute!WendyBee
Big, big love for Ernst!
Oh no! Who broke up with him!
Another amazing story with one of your delightful designs Jodie. Ernst does seem to show emotion and I love his little letterbox too. I hope it isnt anything too bad that cant be fixed - I am sure there is another softie at your house who can help solve the dilemma! You are certainly destined for much bigger things with your softies Jodie, like stories I think.
There are no words to adequately convey how brilliant he is. Another fantastic name as well...
Can I say - I feel like I am watching you just after chrysalis or something. I mean when you raise kids you see it all the time - they reach these milestones where all of a sudden they learn something that just blows their minds and a whole new world is possible everyday. Amy learning to really swim (like a seal) - graceful and easy and fast and efficient, Wil toilet training and totally getting all the steps and parts that just a week ago scared and confused him. I can't articulate what it is with you, but I know it isn't often we see an adult take these flying leaps in learning, cogs clicking in, ripples in the pool sharp and fast...such a joy to watch. I hope you are enjoying it as much as we are.
Another winner Jod, gotta have myself a turtle to add to my Ric-Rac shrine!
Oooh poor Ernst, He looks so sad, hes even crumpled up and discarded the letter.Jodie, you are just too clever (in the nicest sense)Hugs, Sharon
What a little sweetie!!!Jodie :)

Oh Ernst, while I know the letter made you cry this post made me giggle, so darn cute!!
OMG! he is so cute! Cant wait to see what happens nextYour posts always brighten up my dayBel x
Ernst is adorable. I was in love from first sight of the letterbox. The buttons, the shell, the emotion. Ernst jsut needs a cuddle an a nice cup of tea. - Sandra

So gorgeous! I love his little letterbox, sweet :) Ernst 2 is a cutie too, but is he running away from home?!
So cute it hurts....
I think turtles just look like that. Toidle, my baby snapping turtle looks like that all the time, and he's spoiled rotten. Your Ernst is adorable!
I can see this being a tear jerker. Ernst is very cute.
Hmmmmmm...the mailing label makes me wonder what's going on. Gloves...scissors.....box cut.....? Are these hints? Whatever, I hope Ernst finds resolution.
The little envelope just did me right in. And the mailbox. So stinkin' cute. And now I am dying of curiousity... I hope all is well!
I just want to give him a hug! I hope it wasn't something one of my turtles said to him, to make him so sad!!!
That shell/vest is truly inspired! How clever!!! Ernst is wonderful
